MSc Media Science

This ambitious masters program strikes a balance between theory and practice, between academic rigour and industry exposure. Through carefully designed practical modules, the students give vent to their imagination in publishing, audio visual programming, designing and copywriting.

The students exercises are carefully monitored to take their standards for excellence a notch higher. Guest lectures by industry experts, field visits and two industry internships integrated into the curriculum, give the students the necessary industry exposure for launching their careers with required industry skills, conceptual capabilities and decision taking aptitude. The first semester builds the foundation of the students in the world of communications. The second semester takes them deeper into media practices. In the last two semesters the students can pursue their chosen specialisation in any one of the specialisation streams offered. In spite of the specialisation, the curriculum has been designed to ensure that the students are reasonably adept at handling the different media and adapt themselves to a converged media environment. Most importantly, grooming classes are offered in the final semester to bring that extra edge to the students professional competence.
