About Jindal Global Law School

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

In 2009, JGU began its first academic session with the establishment of India’s first global law school. JGLS is committed to providing global legal education to its students. To fulfill this objective, the curriculum and pedagogy is designed to give extensive exposure to students to domestic, international and comparative law courses.

JGLS has also entered into collaborations, exchange programmes, research partnerships and other forms of engagement and interaction with top universities and institutions across the globe which are willing to share their invaluable intellectual resources developed over decades. There are faculty and student exchange programmes and academic collaboration arrangements with leading law schools, such as Harvard, Yale, NYU, Sydney, Keio and many other reputed universities in the world. All these attributes make it JGLS the best law school in Delhi.

Eligibility

Applicants to the JGLS LL.M. programme must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law from any university in India or abroad that is duly recognised under the law and by the regulatory authorities. 

Students graduating by July can also apply, however they need to submit their final degree certificate/mark sheet at the time of admission. 

Admission Procedure

 Admission to the LL.M. programme shall be based on the performance of one of the following entrance examinations (70% weightage):

  1. JSAT-LAWEntranceTest  
  2. LSAT-India Entrance Test

Candidates completing LLM with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade are eligible to apply. Professional qualification such as CA/ ICWA/ CFA/ CS (both 5 year integrated or 3 years after graduation) with minimum 55% marks will also be considered.
Candidates with Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the proposed research with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade can apply. Applicants with more than 3 years industry/ teaching/ practicing/ managerial/ professional experience will be given preference.
Relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Differently-Abled categories or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

  • Library

    JGLS has one of the best libraries in Asia. The Global Library and the Legal Resource Centre at JGLS is an inspiring institutional imagination that combines divergent intellectual spaces within the library setting for reading, reflection and research. JGU’s Global Library functions as a hub for supporting academic scholarship and the research needs of our community. The print section houses around 50000 titles including reference books; the non-print section comprises over 700 CDs/DVDs. The library also provides access to a large number of e-resources including databases, 12031 e-journals, other online material and subscription based access rights to 165000 e-books.

  • Cafeteria

    The Institute has world-class food court – “Biswamil Bistro” reflecting the global aspirations and Indian traditions. Outlets at this food court of JGU provide multi-cuisine options through brands such as Subway, Burger Point, 34 Chowringhee Lane, Street Food by Punjab Grill, Bercos, Moti Mahal, Domino’s Pizza, Breakfast Round the Clock {BRC} and Keventers. A wide range of Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food options are thus available for the benefit of the Students, Faculty, Staff and Guests/Visitors of JGU. The university also has the Tuck Shops like Coffee Café Day, Juice N More and Nescafe.

  • Hostel

    The University’s hall of residence for students consists of several blocks of building designed by a French architect. There are corridors, open spaces and common rooms within each blocks. There are separate blocks for male and female students. The accommodation for students in these blocks follows international norms and the room are aesthetically furnished. Hygiene is an important consideration in these Halls. In addition, the campus provides recreational facilities including a gymnasium and other indoor and outdoor games. The surrounding are fully landscaped with lawns, bushes and trees.
