St. Thomas’ College of Engineering & Technology was established on 29th of August 2000 on a land measuring 5.276 acre allotted by the St. Thomas’ School based on the No Objection Certificate granted by the Government of West Bengal vide Order No. 591-Edn(T) dated 28th December, 1999 issued by the Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education.
The College offers four Programmes approved by AICTE and affiliated to MAKAUT, WB formerly known as WBUT.

Candidate must have passed or must be appearing in (10+2) system only.
Candidate must appear in WBJEE/JEEMAINS Examination.
Documents Needed during Admission Process
1) Original Mark-sheet for qualifying examination & three photocopies (Original Mark-sheet of qualifying examination will be retained by the college.
2) Three copies of age proof (Admit card or Certificate as applicable) with original for verification.
3) Two photocopies of Class X Mark-sheet with original for verification.
4) Two copies of WBJEE / JEE Mains Admit card.
5) Proof for WBJEE / JEE Mains rank and eligibility for admission.
6) Original Allotment Letter issued by WBJEEB and one photocopy.
7) Aadhaar Number of candidate
8) Family Income Certificate.
9) Five colour photographs (four passport size & one stamp size).
10) Copy of school leaving certificate/character certificate from the last attended institute with original for verification.
11) Necessary supporting document for TFW candidates.
12) Medical certificates – (a) on general fitness of the candidate issued by a general medical practitioner to undertake B. Tech. Course (b) from an eye specialist about vision & colour blindness, if any, of the candidate.
13) Students seeking admission must bring their guardian along with Guardian other than natural parent should have notarized authority from parent.
14) Valid student E-mail ID.
Facilities at STCET
St Thomas College of Engineering & Technology provides a lot of facilities for the students to ease their college life. The facilities provided by the college are mentioned below:
- Computer Center: Computer center is a part of the college campus that offers latest computer hardware as well as software. There are 270 computer workstations in total.
- Central Library: A large number of books are available at the central library of the college. The library covers an area of 725 sq. m. There are 8000 volumes with 2245 titles and 1500 e-journals. 150 students can sit at a time in the library.
- Hostel: The college campus consists of separate hostels for boys & girls for the purpose of accommodation which is well furnished as well as comfortable.
- Language Laboratory: Students, as well as staff, can work on their reading skills and speaking skills at the lab. It improves the communication skills of students.
