CMAT Exam 2021

CMAT is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to Management Programme(s) in India. CMAT Score is used  as one of the selection criteria for admission in AICTE affiliated CMAT enlisted Business Schools.

CMAT full form

Full form of CMAT is  Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) . CMAT is of three hours duration. It is Computer Based Online Test conducted to evaluate the candidates aptitude across various sections like Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.

CMAT-NTA

CMAT was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) until 2018. NTA has started conducting CMAT 2019 onwards.The CMAT score is  accepted  by all AICTE- Approved Institutions / University Departments / Constituent Colleges /Affiliated Colleges.

The CMAT-2022 will be conducted by the NTA.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be a citizen of India.In order to apply for CMAT the candidate must complete Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from Recognised University. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s Degree, are also eligible to apply.

There is no age restriction  for appearing in CMAT.

CMAT Examination Fee

For CMAT Examination the application fee for General Category Candidates in  Rupees Two Thousands Only . However the amount differs for Reserved Category Candidates.

CMAT Test Pattern and Syllabus

CMAT Question Paper shall be in English only.

In CMAT there will be four sections viz.

  1. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation

  2. General Awareness

  3. Language Comprehension

  4. Logical Reasoning

The syllabus for the exam will be as per prescribed by AICTE.

The distribution of marks along with Number of Questions in each section of CMAT is given below-

CMAT Marking Scheme

The marking scheme in CMAT Examination is given below-

  1. i) In CMAT Each question carries 04 (four) marks .
  2. ii) For each  correct response , candidate will get  04 (four) marks  in CMAT.

iii) For each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark  will be deducted from the total CMAT total score.

  1. iv) Un-answered/un-attempted will be given  no marks  in CMAT.
  2. v) To answer a question in CMAT, the candidate needs to choose one option as correct option.
  3. vi) However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those candidates who have attempted it correctly as per the revised Answer key will be awarded marks.

vii) In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates who have attempted it.

CMAT Result

CMAT Result will be declared on  CMAT-NTA website . Candidates must apply separately to the desired CMAT-2021 participating Institutions with the CMAT Score . Thereafter, each participating Institution will release their respective cut off CMAT Scores which a candidate should submit to get qualified for admission to that particular Institution. Once shortlisted by CMAT Score, the candidate will have to go through the rest of selection procedure of that particular Institution. Therefore CMAT is treated as one of the important parameters in the selection process.

CMAT Colleges

CMAT is a national level entrance exam for admission to management (MBA/ PGDM) programs offered by the top  1000+ AICTE approved business schools  across the country.

Top Colleges under CMAT

Many colleges consider CMAT Score for selection for admission in MBA/PGDM Programme.

The list includes

  1. JBIMS,
  2. PUMBA,
  3. SIMSREE
  4. Goa Institute of Management, Goa and Others

However the CMAT Applicant is advised to enquire with specific institute for CMAT Score acceptance in admission.

CMAT Application Website

Candidates have to apply for CMAT “Online” ONLY through Website : cmat.nta.nic.in.

The Application Form other than online mode is invalid.Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.Multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.

CMAT Application Requirements

The following documents are required for CMAT Application. The candidate should keep the following documents ready before CMAT Application Form Fill Up.

o A computer with proper internet connectivity

o The particulars of a valid Government ID proof

o The Date of Birth (as mentioned in Class X Board Certificate)

o Govt Identity Details like Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPICNo.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/PAN Number/ Other valid Govt IDs.

o Educational/Qualification details

o Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask)visible including ears against white background

o Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)

o PwD certificate (file size: 50kb to 300kb) in jpg/jpeg format.

o List of City of for CMAT online test

o Bank account details for payment of fee.

o A valid e-mail Id as important communications will be made on this e-mail Id from NTA regarding CMAT

o A valid mobile number as important information via SMS will be sent to the specific mobile number rom NTA regarding CMAT

o A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account for ONLINE CMAT Examination Fee payment.

CMAT Application Steps

For online CMAT Application, the applicant must complete following steps.

CMAT Application Step-1: Registration using Mobile Number and Email ID

Candidate first needs to Apply for Online Registration using own Email Id and Mobile No.

CMAT Application Step-2: Filling Required Details

Candidate needs to Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated

Application Number.

CMAT Application Step-3: Uploading the documents

Next the candidate should Upload scanned images of:

  • the recent photograph (file size 10Kb – 200Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background;
  • candidate’s signature (file size: 4kb – 30kb)
  • PwD certificate (file size: 50kb to 300kb) in jpg/jpeg format.

CMAT Application Step-4: Payment of Application Fee

Pay fee using SBI/HDFC Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI/Wallet and keep proof of fee paid.

All these four Steps of CMAT Application can be done together or at separate timings. The submission of CMAT Application of a candidate could be considered as successful and his/her

candidature would be confirmed only on the successful transaction/receipt of the

prescribed CMAT application fee from him/her.
